A Classic Fall & Winter Outfit

I’ve always loved the tweed jacket and chunky sweater combo. However, I’ve never owned a jacket large enough to accommodate a thick sweater without preventing me from lifting my arms. So, you can imagine how excited I was to find a sleeveless ribbed chunky turtleneck sweater! This sweater fit perfectly under the jacket, and wasn’t bulky at all, giving the illusion of that cozy sweater and blazer look but without overheating.

I also love this double-breasted blazer from J.Crew. The golden color is perfect for the fall and winter months, and the classic cut and herringbone pattern remind me of classic American style a la Ralph Lauren. I almost wore my riding boots with this outfit to really go for the equestrian look, but I decided on these suede boots instead.

This is one of those outfits that will never go out of style and can be worn year after year. I truly believe that it’s important to collect some classic pieces that can be worn for years and will also hold up. I can tell that this J.Crew blazer will. And – bonus: it’s on sale!

Outfit Details: Sleeveless Turtleneck // Double-Breasted Blazer // Jeans // Boots (old, similar here)

šŸ‚IT’S OFFICIALLY FALLšŸ‚ Throwback to last šŸ‚IT’S OFFICIALLY FALLšŸ‚

Throwback to last year’s fall colors. I can’t wait to see them again this year! The morning temps are finally in the 40s and it’s giving me LIFE. Highly recommend a nice morning walk to get your day started.

Lower temps means that we finally get to bring out the fall fashion!! I’ve been stuck in such a fashion rut because quite frankly, summer fashion is blah. I said what I said. šŸ˜‰
✨WHAT MY HUSBAND AND I WORE TO A SUMMER WEDDING✨

Was the outfit matching intentional? Not really haha. I found this light blue dress and knew I would wear it to the wedding and then when it came time to figure out what Jason would wear, I thought his only linen suit (which happens to be light blue) would be perfect. So, we ended up matching.

The dress code for this wedding was semi-formal so we were more dressed up, but if I’m being honest I typically dress up more for weddings anyway. I think it’s more respectful to the bride and groom to err on the side of more dressy vs less dressy.

OUTFIT DETAILS:

On Kate:
• Dress is from @anntaylor
• Shoes (old) and clutch (sold out) are from Ann Taylor

On Jason:
• Suit, tie, and pocket square (all old) are from @bananarepublic
• Shirt is from @combatgent
• Shoes are too old to mention

Recap of Day 5 in Charleston: Our 5th Anniversary Recap of Day 5 in Charleston: Our 5th Anniversary ā¤ļø

The Notebook is one of my favorite movies of all time. Little did I know (though maybe it should’ve been obvious) that the movie was filmed in Charleston, South Carolina.

Fortunately for me, Jason knew. 🄺

He planned our whole day around different filming locations of The Notebook, which is what you’ll see in the photos. When I say that my husband is the most thoughtful man I’ve ever met, I mean it, and this is a perfect demonstration of that.

• Photo 1: The Avenue of Oaks at Boone Hall Plantation
• Photo 2: The main house at Boone Hall, which also served as the exterior of Allie’s home.
• Photo 3: The nature tour of the plantation.
• Photo 4: Cypress Gardens, which is where the lake scene was filmed.
• Video 5: Jason wore a white shirt because Noah wore a white shirt for this scene in the movie. 🄺 The bridge from the movie is behind him!
• Photo 6: Jeni’s Ice Cream, also from the movie!
• Photo 7: The American Theater, filming location for Noah and Allie’s first date!
• Photo 8: College of Charleston, which served as the exterior for Allie’s college.
• Photo 9: We had dinner at Husk (not Notebook related but the exterior reminds me of the movie!). It was delicious and a must-try if you’re ever in Charleston.
• Photo 10: The exterior of our wedding venue. When I saw it, it immediately reminded me of The Notebook and I knew we had to get married there! So as you can see, I really love this movie ā¤ļø

It’s also worth noting that Jason chose Charleston for our anniversary trip so he could do this whole day. I couldn’t be happier (or luckier) to be his wife. ā¤ļø

Recap of Day 4 in Charleston! Scroll to the end f Recap of Day 4 in Charleston!

Scroll to the end for the Pineapple Fountain! It was finally on today.

We started our day with a carriage ride tour of The Battery and the homes there (see our guide Leo 🐓). I highly highly recommend doing a carriage tour because there’s SO much history here, both Revolutionary War history and Civil War history and it’s cool to learn about it. We went on the first tour at 9am and it was perfect because there wasn’t a ton of traffic and it wasn’t too hot yet. It was also the cheapest time!

Next, we decided to tour one of the homes we saw on the carriage tour, the Edmonston-Alston house which is along The Battery. Beautiful house and a cool tour that isn’t too expensive. The view from the 2nd floor piazza and the breeze were delightful after sweating outside. The house also had AC. We haven’t been anywhere without AC - thank goodness.

We spent the rest of the day hitting more galleries and going back to a few favorites. My favorite gallery was Anglin Smith!

We had dinner at Poogan’s Smokehouse. It was pretty good, but not as good as Poogan’s Porch, which has remained our favorite restaurant here.
